Schedule of Employment in Greece

When the Greek employees were asked how many times they change their work schedule in a month, they answered never in 85,8%. The Portuguese employees gave the same answer in 95,25 percentage, these elements are from a study which took place in 1999 from the E.F.I.L.W.C. ( European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions).

Flexible Forms of Employment

The flexible forms of employment do not thrive to a large extent

That is to say

*        Temporary employment (Conventions of Certain Time)

*        Partial Employment

In the most proportion of Greek employees the schedule is complete in Greece . Only a small percentage of employees applies the part time work and the volunteerly Partial Employment.

The most important reason of which the employees don’t want this kind of employment is because they believe that the state doesn’t protect all the employees in the same legal and social way.  ôhat  is to say that the workers with partial employment do not have the same privileges with the workers the complete employment.

So we have almost nought increase of part time employment from 1994 to 2004. ( We haven’t very recent data).

The most recent years in Europe , we can see á flexibility in employment, especially in partial one. Greece has still a difference with the other European countries, mainly with regard to temporary employment’s firms. (regards of the Employment’s Observation, Athens 2006).

Feminine employmentt

According to elements of the EUROSTAT, the women of the European countries prefer the partial employment, so that to have enough time for their household and their children’s care. In Greece there is a small percentage of feminine partial employment and volunteerly one.
